Happy 1yr Locversary to Me!

One year old locs on April 5, 2008

Two weeks old locs.

I just can't get over the growth! I love my Sisterlocks and have no regrets of the decision made to lock my hair! I set my hair based upon technique given by Salkis Re (http://www.sisterlockswithstyle.blogspot.com/) on Wednesday and the 1 yr photos were taken on Saturday of the same week.

Here are some more pics!

During this past year, I have learned alot about my hair, have lost FIVE locks (hated it), had some connected due to thinning, tried out new products and last but certainly not least GOT A NEW PERMANENT JOB! I must say when I started this blog and titled it Nu-Me, that's exactly what I meant. I'm excited about this up and coming year in my Loc Life!

Freshly Washed

Wow, I'm almost six months. I can't believe how time is flying. The following are right after I removed the plaits put in for my washing. I have quite a few with some buds at the end but still tightly coiled. I just wonder once my hair matures if I will miss all of the curly cues..... hmmmm

Five Months Into My Journey

I have been experimenting with styling my locks. I have found that plaiting the hair at night in about ten plaits and tucking the ends will help alleviate some of the shrinkage. I don't put anything on it before plaiting, I just plait, tuck and put my bonnet on before bed. In the mornings I simply finger comb it - I'm loving this wonderful change for me called Sisterlocks! I have posted my usual head shots. The following pics are the results of me plaiting and rolling with Soft Spike Curlers. I used a little Dudley's Styling Foam on my locks before plaiting each section.

Two Weeks thru Three Months Old Sisterlocks

I do apologize but I have FINALLY figured out how to update my blog the correct way. For those that visited my blog in August, I have updated it to correct some formatting, but everything else is the same..... Okay, here are some pics of my locks at 3 months, they are filling in and are looking pretty good if I can say so myself. The following pictures are after my color and shampoo. Ok, ok, ok! I know I wasn't suppose to color but I couldn't stand the gray strands that were in front of my head which couldn't be hid. All is well, but I did have to have some maintenance done on about six locks around the edges...

The Beginning...

Before I began my wonderful journey of Sisterlocks, I had been perm free for about 2.5 years. I wore my hair in a fro or braids most of the time. I have added some pics of the old me..

Good ol' fro

Not such a good picture, but here I am with hair braided with my Mom.
